Costing Reports

The Costing report gives you a detailed breakdown of what each work order costs, so you can understand your expenses and price your services accurately.

What the Costing Report Shows

For each work order, the report includes:

  • Labor costs — The cost of employee time based on hours worked and pay rates.
  • Material costs — The cost of materials used on the job.
  • Service costs — Any additional service charges applied.
  • Total cost — The combined cost of labor, materials, and services.
  • Invoiced amount — What the client was charged for the work order.
  • Margin — The difference between what was invoiced and the total cost.

Generating a Costing Report

  1. Go to Reports > Costing.
  2. Select your date range.
  3. Optionally filter by client or work order.
  4. Click Generate Report.

Understanding Your Costs

The Costing report is valuable for:

  • Pricing accuracy — Compare your actual costs to what you quoted to see if your pricing is on target.
  • Cost control — Identify work orders where costs exceeded expectations and investigate why.
  • Estimating future jobs — Use historical cost data to create more accurate quotes.
  • Tracking unit costs — See exactly how much each component of a job costs.

Exporting

Click Export CSV to download the costing data for use in spreadsheets or accounting tools.
