Assigning Work
Once a work order is created, you need to assign team members so they know what to work on and when. Simple Time makes it easy to allocate your crew to the right jobs.
Assigning Team Members
To assign workers to a work order:
- Open the work order you want to assign.
- In the assignments section, search for and select team members.
- Save your changes.
You can assign one or more team members to a single work order. This is useful for jobs that require a crew rather than a single worker.
Scheduling
When assigning work, you can set a scheduled date and time for the job. This helps your team know when they are expected on site and allows you to plan your workload across the week.
Scheduled work orders will appear on your team's dashboard and in their assigned work list.
Who Can Assign Work
Only users with the Owner or Manager role can assign team members to work orders. Workers can view their own assignments but cannot modify them.
Notifications
When you assign a team member to a work order, they will be able to see the job in their assigned work list. This ensures everyone stays informed about their upcoming jobs.
Tips for Effective Scheduling
- Check team availability before assigning jobs to avoid overloading a single worker.
- Use clear work order titles and descriptions so assigned workers understand the job requirements.
- Review assignments regularly to keep your schedule up to date.
