How to use the clock in and clock out feature for real-time time tracking in Simple Time.

Clock In/Out

The clock in/out feature provides real-time time tracking for your team. Instead of entering hours manually, workers simply tap a button when they start and stop working. Simple Time records the exact times and calculates the duration automatically.

How to Clock In

  1. Open the work order you are about to start working on.
  2. Click the Clock In button.
  3. Your session begins and the timer starts running.

While you are clocked in, a visible indicator shows that you are actively tracking time.

How to Clock Out

  1. When you finish working, click the Clock Out button.
  2. The time entry is saved with your start time, end time, and total duration.

Using Clock In/Out on Mobile

The Simple Time mobile app is designed for workers in the field. You can clock in and out directly from your phone, making it easy to track time on the go without needing to access a computer.

What Managers See

When team members are clocked in, managers can see their active status on the dashboard. This provides real-time visibility into who is working and on which jobs.

Missed Clock-Outs

If a worker forgets to clock out, a manager can edit the time entry to set the correct end time. It is good practice to review open sessions regularly to catch any missed clock-outs.

How It Connects to Timesheets

All clock in/out sessions are automatically reflected in the weekly timesheet grid. There is no need to enter the same hours twice.
