How to upgrade, downgrade, cancel, or reactivate your Simple Time subscription.

Managing Your Subscription

Owner

All subscription management is done from the Subscription page in your Simple Time account.

Viewing Your Current Plan

Go to Settings > Subscription to see:

  • Your current plan (Starter, Professional, or Enterprise)
  • Billing cycle (monthly or annual)
  • Number of active team members
  • Next billing date
  • Subscription status

Subscribing to a Plan

Go to Settings > Subscription.

Review the plan options and choose Starter or Professional.

Select monthly or annual billing.

Click Subscribe. You will be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page.

Enter your payment details and complete checkout.

You will be redirected back to Simple Time with your subscription active.

Upgrading Your Plan

To upgrade from Starter to Professional:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription.
  2. Click Manage Billing to open the Stripe billing portal.
  3. Update your plan to Professional.

The upgrade takes effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period.

Downgrading Your Plan

To downgrade from Professional to Starter:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription.
  2. Click Manage Billing to open the Stripe billing portal.
  3. Update your plan to Starter.

The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Before Downgrading

If you have more than 10 team members, you will need to remove members before downgrading to Starter. Professional-only features — including the Manager role, material tracking, time entry approvals, and advanced reports — will become unavailable when the downgrade takes effect.

Cancelling Your Subscription

Go to Settings > Subscription.

Click Cancel Subscription.

Confirm the cancellation.

After cancelling:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
  • After that, your account enters read-only mode.
  • Your data is preserved — nothing is deleted.

Reactivating Your Subscription

If your billing period has not ended yet:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription.
  2. Click Reactivate.

Your subscription continues as normal with no interruption.

If your billing period has already ended:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription.
  2. Choose a plan and complete checkout to start a new subscription.

All your data will be exactly as you left it.

Per-User Billing

Web subscriptions are billed per active team member. When you add or remove team members, the subscription quantity adjusts automatically. You are charged proportionally for members added mid-cycle.

If you subscribed through the mobile app (App Store or Google Play), manage your subscription from your mobile device instead. See Mobile App Subscriptions.
