Time Tracking
The Simple Time mobile app makes it easy to track your working hours accurately, whether you are on a job site or traveling between locations.
Clocking In and Out
To start tracking time:
- Open the Simple Time mobile app.
- Tap Clock In.
- Select the work order you are working on (if applicable).
- When you are done, tap Clock Out.
Your time entry is recorded with the exact clock-in and clock-out times and is visible to your manager on the web dashboard.
How Time Entries Work
Each time entry records:
- Start time — When you clocked in.
- End time — When you clocked out.
- Duration — Calculated automatically.
- Work order — The job the time is associated with (if selected).
- Location — Your GPS location at clock-in and clock-out (if location services are enabled).
Viewing Your Timesheet
You can view your recent time entries from the app to verify your hours. If you notice an error, contact your manager to have it corrected from the web app.
Location Tracking
When you clock in or out, the app can record your GPS location. This helps verify that time was logged at the correct job site. Location tracking requires you to grant location permissions to the app.
Tips
- Remember to clock out when you finish work or take a break to keep your timesheet accurate.
- If you forget to clock in, let your manager know so they can add the time entry manually.
- Check your timesheet regularly to make sure your hours are recorded correctly before payroll is run.
