Photos

The Simple Time mobile app lets field workers capture photos directly from job sites. Photos are a valuable way to document work progress, record site conditions, and provide proof of completion.

Taking a Photo

To capture a photo on a job:

  1. Open the work order you are working on.
  2. Tap the Photos or Camera button.
  3. Take a photo using your phone's camera, or select an existing photo from your gallery.
  4. Add an optional caption to describe what the photo shows.
  5. Tap Upload.

The photo is attached to the work order and is immediately visible to your manager and other team members on the web dashboard.

When to Take Photos

Photos are useful in many situations:

  • Before and after — Document the state of a site before starting work and after completion.
  • Progress updates — Show work in progress so your manager can monitor without visiting the site.
  • Issues or damage — Record any problems, damage, or unexpected conditions you find on site.
  • Proof of completion — Provide visual evidence that the work was done as requested.

Viewing Photos

All photos attached to a work order can be viewed from both the mobile app and the web dashboard. They are stored securely and are accessible to team members with appropriate permissions.

Storage

Photos are stored securely in Simple Time's cloud storage. There is no need to manage files on your phone after uploading — the photos are safely backed up and associated with the correct work order.

Tips

  • Take clear, well-lit photos for the best documentation.
  • Add captions to your photos so others can understand what they are looking at without needing to ask.
  • Upload photos as you go rather than waiting until the end of the day, so your team always has up-to-date information.
