View and complete assigned work orders from the Simple Time mobile app while in the field.

Field Work

The mobile app makes it easy for field workers to view their assigned jobs and complete work orders on the go.

Viewing Your Assignments

When you open the Simple Time mobile app, you will see a list of work orders assigned to you. Each work order shows:

  • Client name — Who the work is for.
  • Job address — Where you need to go.
  • Scheduled date and time — When the work is expected.
  • Status — Whether the job is upcoming, in progress, or completed.

Tap on any work order to see the full details, including the scope of work, any special instructions, and materials needed.

From the work order detail screen, you can tap the address to open it in your phone's maps app for turn-by-turn directions.

Updating Work Order Status

As you progress through a job, update the status to keep your office team informed:

  • Start — Mark the work order as in progress when you arrive on site.
  • Complete — Mark it as done when the job is finished.

Your manager can see these status updates in real time from the web app.

Adding Notes

If you need to communicate something about the job, you can add notes directly on the work order from the mobile app. Notes are visible to your manager and other team members.

Logging Materials

If you use materials on a job, you can log them from the work order screen. Select the material from the catalog and enter the quantity used. This helps keep costing and inventory records accurate.
